What is API 5L Grade X52? API 5L X52 pipe, also known as L360 pipe, is named after the minimum yield strength of 52 Ksi (360 Mpa). It is a medium grade according to  API 5L and ISO 3183 specifications , and it is used for oil and gas pipeline transmissions. The American Petroleum Institute standard API 5L applies to both seamless and welded steel line pipes. This is steel pipe used in the petroleum and natural gas industries for pipeline transportation systems What is API 5L Pipes? API 5L Pipes is steel that’s alloyed with a variety of elements in total amounts between 1.0% and 500th by weight to boost its mechanical properties. API 5L Pipes are broken down into 2 groups: low API 5L Pipes and high API 5L Pipes. The difference between the two is controversial. Smith and Hashemi outline the distinction at 4.0%, whereas Degarmo, et al., outline it at 8.0%. most ordinarily, the phrase “API 5L Pipes” refers to low-API 5L Pipes. Heavy Wall Thickness Pipes Benefits & Uses

What are Heavy Wall Pipes? A pipe with dimensions equal to or greater than those of the American Society of Mechanical Engineers (ASME) Schedule 80 pipe is referred to as  heavy wall pipe . Schedule 10 pipe is used to start pipe schedules. As the schedule number increases, so does the thickness of the pipe’s wall. Due to the thickness of the pipe wall, two 1/8 inch pipes with different wall thicknesses can have different pipe schedule numbers. The schedule number is unaffected by pipe diameter or weight per foot. A heavy wall Schedule 80 pipe with a 1/8 inch diameter, for example, has a 0.135-inch wall thickness and a 1/8 inch light wall. The wall thickness of Schedule 40 pipe is only 0.068 inches. What are Carbon Steel and Alloy Steel Heavy Wall Thickness Pipe? Carbon Steel and Alloy Steel Heavy Wall Thickness Pipe is steel that’s alloyed with a variety of elements in total amounts between 1.0% and 500th by weight to boost its mechanical properties.
